What forms or payments are accepted in Belize and at Portofino?
In Belize, various forms of payments are accepted. Major credit card are Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. US Cash is also widely accepted at an exchange rate of BZ$2 to US$1. At Portofino accounts may be settled by US Cash, Belize Cash, Euros, Visa, Master Card, American Express or Discover.

Can Portofino assist us with planning activities?
Our concierge offers an endless supply of activities through which you can explore the many cultural and historical wonders of Belize, including world class diving, fishing, inland trips, massages etc.

Is there a fee for an extra person joining for an overnight stay?
Yes, there is a fee for extra persons staying. Please refer to our rates and policies for current rates.

What amenities are provided in the rooms?
All rooms are fully equipped with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, flat screen cable TV, DVD Player, mini-refrigerator, hair dryer and free Wi-Fi. Bathroom amenities include shampoo and conditioner. Room service is offered to every room. Daily Housekeeping service is also provided.

How do I get to Belize?

How do I get to Portofino?
The international airport is located 10 miles northwest of Belize City. Maya Island Air and Tropic Air fly on to Ambergris Caye. PORTOFINO will have a representative to pick you up from San Pedro and bring you to Fido’s dock by taxi, and then by boat directly to the resort. The boat ride is approximately 15-20 minutes. Boat transfer from San Pedro to Portofino is complimentary.

Are children accepted at Portofino?
Yes, children are welcomed at Portofino. Please check out the Portofino Beach Front Mansion, which is perfect for families and groups.

Do we need to bring beach towels?
We provide complimentary beach towels via our Front Desk.

What amenities are available at Portofino?
Portofino offers a variety of services and resort facilities for you to do as little or as much as you want. For more information, please refer to our facilities page.

How many restaurants are there on site?
Enjoy casual Euro-Caribbean Fusion cuisine featuring lunch and snacks such as seafood dishes, salads, burgers and sandwiches at the Green Parrot Bistro, formerly known as Le Bistro. For a casual yet upscale ambiance, enjoy an enjoyable evening at the Portofino Restaurant, our most recent addition.

What is your check-in time?
Check in as at 3pm. However, if the room is available before, we are happy to accommodate an early check in.

Is the tap water safe for drinking?
Our tap water is purified. However, we advise you to drink bottled drinking water provided in your room free of charge. In the restaurant/bar, we only serve bottled drinking water and ice cubes made from purified water.

What is the voltage in Belize?
All room outlets are 110 volts and 60 Hertz, which is the same as the US. Should a power failure arise, the resort has a back up generator.

What happens in the event of a hurricane?

Is there internet access at Portofino?
All rooms and exterior grounds are equipped with wireless internet access. For your convenience, we have a complimentary business center located in the reception area that is open during the reception operating hours.

Are pets allowed at Portofino?
We regret that we are unable to accommodate pets.

What forms of transportation are available for traveling to San Pedro?
Our resort is located six miles north of San Pedro Town, and is generally accessible only by boat. As an added value, we offer complimentary transportation service throughout the day depending on departures and arrivals. Please contact our Front Desk for daily schedule. Alternatively, a water taxi stops in front of our resort for a fee.
